Amaryllis grace our winters with a touch of much needed color and this one is no exception! This project
relies on ink to make the amaryllis pop forward away from the background as well as the other blooms.
We’ll be working on focusing detail to help out main flower pop and how something as simple as a
“broken border” can help build depth into an image.
An amaryllis is also the perfect subject to introduce you to the Fudenosuke or Fude pen (rhymes with
“dude”). Fude pens have a soft tip that allows you to go from a super fine line to a thick line with just a
little added pressure from your hand. Lastly, we’ll work together to create an abstract background that has
lots of hidden meaning—to the artist!
