This class is a landscape – one of very few I have ever done, but one I love. It brings back memories of my Canadian home – the rocks, the craggy trees and memories of “The Group of 7” (My favorite landscape painters). The class will be about using transparent paints and making your own OPAQUE paints. I have photoshopped the trees and using value as a guide made my own opaque paints. The sky, water rocks and chairs are mingled transparent paints. There is a beautiful contrast using both opaque and transparent in a painting.
The first image for everything EXCEPT THE TREES and the second image suggested treatment for trees.
Please have your drawing done on your paper ahead of the class. Be sure to have a black a white copy for your values Have all your paints available but with a few essential pigments as follows.
