LINE, SHAPE, VALUE, COLOR AND EDGES: Learn to interpret and see visual
information in a more comprehensive and artistic way. Carolyn’s teaching is based on
years of experience teaching others how to recognize patterns, make comparisons, and
interpret edges, color temperature, and shapes. Her goal is to empower artists to look and
see a little differently and be able to expand their own personal expression.
This workshop is for artists who are interested in enhancing their drawing and painting
skills, while also learning how to approach a painting in a more creative way. Although
we will be working from live models (fixed subject with a fixed light source), the
instruction and information is applicable to any subject matter, and is not just limited to
those who paint ‘portraits’. There will be demonstrations, presentations on visual
language and the story of art history, and as much individual attention as possible.
Instruction will be in oils and the class is for the intermediate to advanced painter.
Pastels, water-based oils, and acrylics are permissible.
