Dan Thompson Drawing Workshop
Sharpen your drawing skills with Dan Thompson as he leads his workshop, “Drawing the Figure and Portrait” on January 11–12, and on January 19–20, 2019. In addition to his prodigious talent, Dan has encyclopedic knowledge of the methods of Master Artists throughout history.

Huihan Liu Plein Air Workshop
Beloved Chinese Master Artist Huihan Liu returns to Southern Atelier February 25–March 1 for “Plein Air Painting in Old Cortez.” Huihan takes you outside for an incredible week of on-site work in Cortez, a wonderful, old Florida location that you will fall in love with.
Zhaoming Wu Clothed Figure Workshop
Master Artist painter Zhaoming Wu travels from San Francisco for “Painting the Clothed Figure” March 25–29. Students will be led by observing Zhaoming’s demonstrations along with individual instruction, and critiques. Workshop is filling fast, register soon
David Shevlino Figure Painting Workshop
Southern Atelier welcomes Master Artist David Shevlino for the first time April 25–28 when he presents “Painting the Figure with Expression.” He is noted as a Master of wet on wet technique, and will teach an expressive, more abstract approach to painting the figure.
Charles Miano Red Chalk Workshop
Southern Atelier finishes the workshop season with our own living Master, Charles Miano, who offers his signature “Red Chalk Drawing,” May 17–19. Artists will learn important technical aspects of the medium including how to stretch paper. Be sure to register early.
