Summer on the Gulf of Mexico is a magical time of year. Charles Miano, Director of Southern Atelier, in lieu of his regular classes will offer these seminars, which focus on the exploration of nature’s color and light. The Color and Light Seminars are designed to give participating artists and Miano assistants the unique opportunity of practicing color and light key life studies while enjoying the beauty of Florida’s natural environment. These seminars are planned to give participants a most comfortable and stimulating learning experience.
These four seminars will equip artists with the holistic knowledge needed to understand from a prismatic standpoint how to mix and perceive colors, values, and edges to achieve realism in a variety of natural subjects.
Participants will come away with greater knowledge and skill, as well as completed studies and finished compositions.
The seminars will highlight how to understand open palette painting, the use of materials, impressionist color theory, mixing the proper paint consistency, the use of mediums, brush handling, calligraphy, and color as expression.
