SA Master Class —Continuing The Legacy of Past Masters
Awareness and appreciation of classical art is on the rise. Emerging artists are discovering the need to be proficient in basic painting and drawing techniques as they carve out their own artistic vision.
As they continue to practice their skills rigorously, artists also seek an increased understanding of methods of past masters. With our yearly Master Class taught by a recognized contemporary Master Artist, Southern Atelier offers the opportunity for artists to bring their vision to a higher level of sophistication and allows them to dig deeply into the meaning of art and beauty in contemporary society.
Our Master Class highlights the work and techniques of a world-renowned Master Artist who instructs an in-depth, ten-day workshop here in our studio. During this intensive workshop, the Master Artist displays his or her own works and demonstrates personal techniques interspersed with planned lessons. Southern Atelier’s Master Class is recommended for artists who have an intermediate to advanced knowledge of basic drawing, figure drawing and painting. All of our Master Artists have studied and apprenticed under Masters before them and have learned the techniques of the Old Masters of Pre-Renaissance periods and have directly applied these teachings to their own works. Students will have the privilege of one-on-one attention with some of the world’s most sought-after, classically trained artists of our time.
